Murighiol is located approximately 36 km from Tulcea, between Mahmudia and Razim Lake. The village shelters the ruins of the old Roman fortress of Halmyris, built between the 1st and the 4th Century A.D (the massive defense walls, with towers and gates, the thermae) and also the ruins of an ancient basilica.

The local architectural decoration is characterized by reminders of old Slavic beliefs (the mermaid, the sunrays) present on the gable of the houses, or by figures depicting the main activities of the population (the fish, the tree of life, the branch).

Murighiol Tourist Village is a fantastic place for those who love sport fishing, hunting and water sports, and also a great place to taste traditional food.
